Current and future projects
• In the vegetable sector, ease of cooking is increasingly important. In co-operation with business partners, Special Fruit has developed a full range of vegetables in microwave-ready packaging that keeps all contamination out and all freshness in.
• In sourcing, demands are becoming tougher in terms of fair trade, hygiene, working conditions and sustainability. Special Fruit has specialist staff members scouring the world for suitable plantation facilities.
• At the other end of the chain, retailers like to distinguish themselves from their competition with unique merchandise. By providing tailor-made packaging, innovative product mixtures, special portion-sizing or other distinctive feature, Special Fruit helps such retailers carve their own market niches.
And so, we are set to face all manner of future challenges. To illustrate: we are researching new berry varieties, experimenting with new packaging materials and presentation trays, refining our databases and their accessibility, developing new last-minute sales options and optimizing our waste disposal control. Individually, these projects may seem... well, just projects. But together, they are evidence of our on-going dedication to innovation.
